Crisis and Opportunity: Midwifing a New Life
Now is the time to make your New Year’s Resolutions!
New Year’s Resolutions in April? Yes, indeed. Nowruz, the New Day, also known as the Persian New Year, has been celebrated on the vernal equinox, when the sun moves to 0 degrees Aries, for at least 7,000 years.
And in good ancient fashion, the celebration continues for 13 days, so there’s still time to join the party. While the moon is waxing to full on April 7th, we still have time to engage the energy of this annual growth cycle.
Doesn’t it just make sense for us to start anew as Mother Earth awakens in Aries? Plant the seeds of our intentions at the time when Mother Earth is ready to receive the seeds for the new growing season (in the Northern Hemisphere). Maybe the reason those New Year’s resolutions made on January 1st rarely work is that the timing is off. Maybe, as we align with rhythms of nature, the energies of fecundity and creativity will work in our favor.
Aries is the sign of the Ram, the ego, the initiating fire fulfilling desire. Mars is the ruler of cardinal fire, the sacred masculine initiating energy of passion and manifestation. It’s the energy of primordial creative impulse spiraling into present time, which makes now a very auspicious time to meditate on Shakti energy and to inaugurate a daily meditation practice.
Making the soil more fertile for planting our seeds, Mars conjoins Saturn at zero degrees Aquarius in this new moon cycle. A brand new social structure is about to be birthed. With our intentions it will be one in which our individual energy and initiative is responsibly directed toward creating a world which honors equality and freedom for all.
Augmenting the humanitarian energy at this time is Chiron, the Wounded Healer, in Aries. Present exactly at the time of the new moon, Chiron in Aries gives us the strength to heal from the inside out. We have the courage of Mars to trust our inner impulses to heal from the wounds of collective programming.
Expanding the breakdown of the current social order, Jupiter conjuncts Pluto in the sign of Capricorn in the week leading up to the Full Moon. Exact on April 4th, this is a rare meeting which occurs only once every 13 years. However this year, 2020, they will be meeting three times. Throughout the year and heightened on three occasions, we’ll be experiencing the purging of out worn modalities and a heightened zeal for our passions.
This is magnetic energy — forcefully drawing to us whatever we focus on. The good, the bad, the ugly, the beautiful, fear or love, all is available to us. Our attention, our intention drives the magnetic force of attraction.
Mercury is together with Neptune at home in Pisces. Our thoughts are meeting our capacity for dreaming and for compassion. We could drown our sorrows in fear driven escapism. Or we could set our minds free of mundane boundaries and imagine our most glorious dreams coming to life.
The universe is inviting us to visualize our desires and to put some emotional juice into our dreams. Opportunity is on steroids now for us to transform our lives when we turn our gaze within and fan the flames of our heart’s desire……
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times…
But this time, it’s not the tale of two cities, it’s the tale of two epochs.
The Era of BM, Big Mistake, is giving way to the Age of AH, The Age of Harmony.
We are living in interesting times, in the way in which the Chinese mean interesting as a curse.
Interesting times are cataclysmic times. Times when the whole world-as-it-has-been-known ceases to exist.
We are in such cataclysmic times, in-between times. In-between epochs.
We are in the Empire of Alienation in the disintegrating phase of the Era of BM.
And we have starring roles in the unfolding drama. We are the ones to midwife the Age of Harmony.
We are the ones to write the tale of The Creation of the Landscape of Love.
May the truth within each of us guide us.
